Okay, wow. Umm let me first start off by saying that if youi didn’t watch the episode in it’s entirety then how can you criticize it? I think that it was stupid that Pete souded off about how mnuch he hated the finale and he never gave it a chance. He never even really gave the new series a chance as a matter of fact. What he’s seen maybe ten episodes out of four seasons?
Also what happened to Donna was seriously downplayed by all three of you guys. Donna seriously changed throughout the course of the season. She grew up and started to become more responsible and more mature. When the Doc wiped her memory, he destroyed all the change that she had made and put her unwillingly back into the way she was before. I mean, she begged and the Doc was crushed. I think that killing Donna would have been better than the memory wipe and never being able to realize what she had done, dying an old woman thinking that her life meant nothing.
Yeah, RTD put more emotion into the show, but emotion for the Doc is a good thing (exceot for the corny love stuff). Doctor Who is not RTD. I totally get that you guys hat his guts and I admit that the finale had it’s flaws but I thought that it was pretty interesting. The group flying scene was gay as well, but I thought it was pretty decent.
As far as the show being *propaganda* supporting gays, I think that it’s an interesting edition. I absolutely love Torchwood as much as I love DW. I think that Capt Jack is awesome, he’s hilarious and different and he lightens the mood.
If you want to talk shit about anyones character, why didn’t you say anything about Rose and her bitching the entire episode. To me it was ooc and totally fucking annoying. I also wanted to kick Martha because she was getting ready to blow up the entire planet. That’s huge. The Doctor preaches non violence and all of his companions were trying to kill. It was crazy.
I will agree with you on a few things: That regeneration shit was a total cop-out and as far as the second Doctor thing in a different universe, the gayest shit I have ever scene. I think that Bad Wolf Bay scene was what I hated the most throughout the entire episode.
This is way longer than I thought it would be so my parting words to you are: Get over the fact that RTD is into merchandising. He’s all sbout lining his pockets, judt like everyone else. The world is like that, sweetheart, and as old as you guys probably are, I can’t believe that you never saw it coming. People sell out, big deal. You have spent how many podcasts repeating the same thing? And also I can’t believe you compared Lucas to Davies. That’s like blasphemy. Star Wars and Doctor Who are nothing alike.
Oh yeah, it is actually pronounced- Dayes-ex-mockina. You shouldn’t use big words if you can’t pronounce them correctly.
Pete, I think you should actually think before you talk, because that’s a skill you lack. I mean, you barely watch the new season and you have the nerve to pass judgment and keep comparing it to the old DW. Yes, I haven’t seen the older episodes, I’ll admit. But what I will not do if I were to watch one or two is to fast forward through it and then talk shit comparing it to the new school version.
That was 40 YEARS AGO.
There are new writers now. Things change over the years, they evolve. It’s just like the Doctor’s personality after regenerations. Stop being so stuck in the past and give the new version a chance. Moffat has some really good episodes and so does Moffat so why don’t you watch the whole 2005 series over the next couple of days, take notes, and then explain to me everything you hated and even if you hate most of it, I guarantee that you will like something. Just try it. I’d love it of you told me your opinion afterwards.
